I made 12 of these cards – the second mass-production of cards I’ve done now! They were meant to be invitations to the street party our resident’s association was planning, but then the local church stepped in and organised to have the main road in our village closed off and the residents decided that as that was already arranged, why go to the effort of organising a second one around the corner?
I kept 4 back – one for each of my nieces and for their other auntie. The rest I used as invites to a tea party at work with Victoria sponges and other cakes (see the last picture of this post for photo of cakes etc.).
I used cream gatefold cards as a base, using the Papermania Portobello Road 6×6 paper stack I cut the papers so they would cover one half of the front of the cards, then sprayed with spray-on adhesive (very messy, I would not recommend it!) and attached to the card. I used the Portobello Road urban cling stamps in black ink on white card to create the sentiments, I cut them all out and attached with foam pads. Next I stamped the critters from Penny Black’s ‘I Love London’ T for Transparent set and the Union Flag bunting from Stamposaurus and coloured using Promarkers. I cut them out and then attached to the left-hand panel only with foam pads. Then I cut ribbon from the Portobello Road set to length and attached using double-sided sticky tape.
Next I used the urban stamps again – the ‘Machin’ in blue ink on all of the envelopes, then cleaned it and went over the same image but with VersaMark Watermark ink and added holographic embossing powder that melted to give a beautiful final embossed ‘stamp’ on the envelope. Then the cancellation mark in black ink to finish.
