Paper Craft

Paisley card

It’s a friend’s birthday next week & he is a HUGE fan of Oasis, Beady Eye, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and PRETTY GREEN. He has lots of T-shirts with a bit of paisley pattern on them (paisley features quite heavily in the Pretty Green design theme), so I decided I just HAD to make him a paisley card…

I saw some paisley cards on Michelle Last‘s blog and really wanted to re-create them, but I couldn’t find the ‘Paisley Background stamp’ she said she had used, but on Saturday I saw the Paisley Party roller stamp & thought ‘next best thing’ so I got a Stampin’ Wheel, some black ink to put in it and two roller stamps (you will probably see creations using the other one very soon!) my order arrived on Wednesday, so last night I got crafting!!

The coloured papers are A5 bits I have in my stash, I bought them from a wonderful shop I frequented during my degree in Liverpool called ‘The Paper Mill Shop’ and I just experimented rolling across them until I got the hang of using the Stampin’ Wheel. Next I cut out the best strips using my guillotine, then I arranged them across the card until I was happy with the order and the direction of the strips, then attached them using roll-on glue. The buttons were also from my stash, I attached them with Glossy Accents because I find it holds buttons and other rather heavy ornaments very well.
