OK, OK – so my card is a day late, but I’m sure it’s the taking part that counts!! Here is my card I made for World Card Making Day 2012…
I used a square Kraft base card and die-cut the largest of the Spellbinders Nestabilities ‘Labels Four’ die from the red gingham sheet in Papermania ‘Portobello Road’ 6″ x 6″ Paper Pack. Then I cut the second largest and second smallest labels in the same set from plain white card. The second largest one I lined up over the top of the largest shape and attached them together using SNAIL and attached them to the front of the card.
Then I stamped the smallest shape with the sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Stamps set ‘Big Berries – Strawberries‘ in black ink, I also stamped the strawberry on white card in VersaColor ‘Scarlet’ ink and the leaves in the darkest green from the VersaColor ‘Rainforest’ set. I fussy cut the strawberry and leaves, then worked out where the berry should go and attached it with SNAIL. I mounted the leaves on foam pads and attached over the top of the berry.
Next I cut a slit in the spine of the card where I wanted the ribbon to go and threaded the ribbon through, tied a bow in it and cut off the excess length. The ribbon was from Papermania ‘Portobello Road’ set too, so it was meant to match the paper, but I think they look very different!
Last but not least I put the sentiment on foam pads and attached it over the ribbon.
