My Mum was heading out to see a friend for the weekend this morning & had a present to take with her, but didn’t have a tag & was going through her ‘tag stash’ (whenever my Mum gets cards she cuts off the front & punches a hole in it to make it into a tag for any presents she is giving away – a nice upcycle idea, and better than throwing gorgeous cards away!) but was getting exasperated because she was meant to be leaving soon and hadn’t found one that matched the bag. I offered to make her one so she said, “That would be lovely – you have 5 minutes.”
So this is my fastest tag make ever – from conception to stamping to attaching to present!
My Mum’s friend loves cooking and gardening, so my first port of call was my Waltzingmouse stamp collection, and after a quick peruse I settled on the Vintage Garden – Seed Packet and Vintage Garden – Flowers sets. I grabbed my Versa Fine ink in Vintage Sepia, an acetate block and a Kraft tag and bakers twine I had bought from the Different Colours stand at BSSBS.
I lined up the Hyacinth stamp and ‘For my Friend’ sentiment on the acetate block and inked them up, stamped the tag, considered inking the edges, but thought better of it because my Mum was champing at the bit to get on her way. So I cut some twine, threaded the tag to the present & hey-presto a VERY quick, but I’m sure you will agree still personal and lovely present tag.
