Paper Craft

Father’s Day Card

Because of the recent sad loss of my step brother I wanted to make a very clean and simple Father’s Day card for my step father.

I used a white 6″ x 6″ square base card. I had some metallic papers in my stash from when I was at University in Liverpool that I purchased from The Paper Mill Shop, so I trimmed it to size and attached it to the base with roll-on glue (AKA Snail).

Next I stamped the ‘Father’s Day’ and happy from ‘Happy Birthday’ from the IndigoBlu ‘Mr Fan-tash-tic’ set in Versamark ink on some smooth white card (I used a post-it note to mask the ‘birthday’ part of the sentiment so it didn’t pick up any ink). I sprinkled it with Cosmic Shimmer ‘Lagoon Lilac Aurora’ embossing powder and heat set it.

Then I lined up the sentiment under the second largest Spellbinders ‘Labels Twenty-Five’ and fixed it in place with removable tape. I passed it through my Big Shot and gently removed the tape.

I found some purple buttons in my collection that were as close in colour to the metallic paper as possible and attached them to the sentiment with Glossy Accents (Ranger), then left them aside to dry. Once dry I attached the sentiment to the front of the card with sticky foam fixers for dimention.
