Bunting Birthday Card #1

A colleague of mine is celebrating her 30th birthday this week, so I wanted to make her a special birthday card.

I’ve been toying with the idea of a bunting birthday card for a few months and had ideas about what stamps and die cuts to use & now I finally had a good reason for one.

I loved the 2011-2013 Stampin’ UP! In colors & I thought they would work well for this idea so I used the Island Indigo and Pool Party cardstock to die cut the largest of the pennants in the Spellbinders Nested Pennants dies.

Next I stamped a 3 and a 0 on Calypso Coral cardstock and fussy cut them out. I stuck them to the pennants with roll on glue.

Then I stamped ‘Happy Hour’ by Kenny K for Whimsy Stamps on to white card and fussy cut her out & coloured her in with Promarkers. I stuck her to a pennant with Snail. To add some detail I went over her glass and jewellery with Glossy Accents (Ranger).

I stamped two sentiments and a glass from the Stampin’ UP! ‘Happy Hour’ stamp set in Brilliance Moonlight White ink directly on to one of the Island Indigo pennants.

Next I used my Fiscars eyelet setters to cut holes in the top corners of the pennants and set pink eyelets in to protect the card from tearing when I threaded the Calypso Coral ribbon through them. The two pieces of ribbon at each end of the bunting

The penultimate flag looked a bit bare so I used the Memory Box die ‘Party Glasses’ to cut out lots of little glasses from white card and used my Quicky Glue Pen to attach them.

Et voila!
