Christmas presents thank you cards

I hope people are still enjoying the festive period – I know I am, but I’m back to work on 2nd January!

I like to send out my Christmas present thank you cards ASAP otherwise it’s the end of January before I know it & I worry that I look so rude!

In order to get thank-you cards in the post before 2014 I decided to go for CAS so I could make lots in as short a period as possible.

I loved the Lili of the Valley grunge/vintage sentiments when they came out & bought the ‘Sentiments – Just to Say‘ set, but I haven’t used them yet!! The thank you is quite big & takes up almost half an A6 card so they are brilliant for a CAS card.

I’ve become quite addicted to using black base cards recently because I love how they make other colours really stand out, so I started with black A6 cards and inked the thank you stamp with Versa Mark Watermark ink and then sprinkled on Cosmic Shimmer ‘Golden Meaqdow Blaze’ embossing powder over it. When the cards were cool I wiped over the sentiments with a clean, dry cloth becuase the embossing powder leaves behind a gold shimmer wherever it has been & wiping gets rid of it so the embossed bits stand out more.

Next I have an American Crafts premium ribbons set (I think it’s called boutique, but I’m not sure) and in the set was a sparkly green ribbon that was just right to match the embossing powder. I cut two slits in the card fronts with my craft knife to thread the ribbon through & then tied a bow (a bit like a present) above the sentiment.

Et voila!

Christmas 2013 thank you cards
