Some background… My Mother is of Irish ancestry, born in England (Shropshire) where she would listen to all the Welsh rugby on the wireless, she LOVES everything about France, and feels sorry for the Italians… So when the RBS 6 Nations Rugby is on she has sympathies for all teams and so whoevers wins, she’s happy…
So when Ireland won at the weekend, she was thrilled! So I decided to make her these cards so she could send them to her die-hard England supporting friends…
I used the Lili of the Valley ‘Rugby Mad‘ stamp on white card and coloured him in using Promarkers.
The base card is a dark green A6 240gsm from Hobbycraft (orignally purchased for Christmas cards) I stamed the stamps from the Waltzingmouse ‘Splat that’ set in VersaFine Vintage Sepia on the card front to make it look muddy & torn up with studs on rugby boots.
Next I attached the main image to the front of the card so I could see where I could put the text, I used some clear alphabet stamps I have (I think they are Kaisercraft?) using versamark watermark ink and used Papermania ‘Seafoam White’ embossing powder for the text.
Last but not least I stamped the T, R and Y of the Whimsy ‘Spell it out‘ stamp set on cream card and fussy cut them out and stuck them over the main image with roll on glue.
