Father’s Day Card and tags 2015

I’m sure I’ve said it before, but my Step Dad has a Narrowboat so I regularly make him nautical-themed cards. Today is Father’s Day here in the UK, so this is the card and matching tags I made for my Step Dad.

I used a white textured A5 card base and attached a Kraft card panel to the front. I stamped the ship’s wheel and oars from the WMS ‘Ocean Bound’ stamp set onto Whisper White card stock with Versa Fine ‘Vintage Sepia’ ink to make a patterned paper. I die cut a Memory Box ‘Majestic Anchor’ from dark blue card and threaded three lengths of baker’s twin through the hole in the top. I attached the bakers twine to the back of the patterned paper with Glossy Accents, then added Glossy Accents to the rest of the back of the patterened paper and attached this over the Kraft card panel.

The pinstripe panel was stamped with the WMS ‘Pinstripe Backgrounder‘ stamp in Midnight Muse and attached to the card base at an angle. Then the circle and post card panel were attached to the card with roll-on glue.

I used the WMS ‘Pinstripe Backgrounder‘ to stamp another piece of Whisper White card and cut out a luggage tag from it using the largest WMS ‘Stitched Tags‘ die. The gromits were cut from dark blue card, as well as the Memory Box ‘Majestic Anchor’. I attached the gromits and anchor with Quickie Glue pen.

For the bottle tag I cut a vertical strip of A4 piece of kraft card 3 inches wide, then used the third smallest Spellbinders Classic Circles Small die to cut the hole for the bottle top at one end. At the end with the hole in I scored at 2.5 inches and again 3.5 inches from the first score line. Using the smallest of the Classic Circles Small I partially ran it through my Big Shot so only a semi-circle was cut from the card.

I stamped the WMS ‘Pinstripe Mini‘ on Whisper White card with Midnight Muse ink and cut it to size using my Tonic Studios Super trimmer. The panel was attached over the front of the tag with roll-on glue. I also stamped the rope frame and ship from WMS ‘Ocean Bound‘ stamp set and cut it out using a Classic Circles Small die, then attached the circle to the tag with foam pads.
