On Monday it will be my friend’s birthday, I finished off his card last night but let the Crystal Drops dry overnight. He is an avid supporter of Chelsea Ladies football club, so when Tattered Lace brought out the Footballers die set with the lady footballer I had to use it for his card. The captain of Chelsea Ladies is Katie Chapman and her number is 17.
I cut the Tattered Lace footballer, 1 and 7 and ball from some Neenah white cardstock and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens to resemble Katie Chapman, then set them aside whilst I worked on the rest of the card. I also cut the sentiment from black card using my Cheery Lynn designs sentiment dies.
I cut a panel of watercolour cardstock with my trimmer and attached it to a cutting pad, then wet it with clean water and smooshed my Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass Distress inks on my craft mat and picked it up with a paintbrush and painted the watercolour panel, then let it dry.
When I attached the panel to the card fron and attached the footballer, ball and sentiment the card still seemed too bare (I know it’s a masculine card, but still I felt it needed something more). So I found some blue card that was close to the blue I had used to colour the football kit and cut some of my Spellbinders ‘Pennants’ dies from it and cut one shorter than the other for some interest. Last of all I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in ‘Midnight Blue’ and let them dry overnight.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for a masculine card, or maybe for a football mad female friend. What have you been making during #STAMPtember2016? (maybe this card would have been more appropriate for #DIEcember!!) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
