Firstly I want to wish all the Dads – first timers and old timers – Happy Father’s Day!
I’ve spent the day with my Step Dad, Mum, Sister and Nieces, so now I’m going to share the card I made for him for today.
I loved the MFT Denim Background when I first saw it because I thought it was so versatile – it can be used for unisex cards and the full spectrum of ages. Because I think it’s a good background to use for men I wanted to use it for a simple Father’s Day Card.
I inked up the stamp with Stampin’UP! Midnight Muse ink and stamped a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of whisper white card.
I used the MFT Stitched rounded rectangles frame from Marina Mist card, I inked the edges of the cut out with Midnight Muse to tie them in with the denim stamping.
For the sentiment I was desperate to use my Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Dienamic and MFT More Essential Sentiments. I used my Tim Holtz stamp platform to line up my sentiment stamps so they were straight and so that when I had die cut the rip strip the second sentiment would be directly under the first on the card base. I attached some fun foam to the back of the denim panel everywhere except under the rip strip.
For the main sentiment I ran my VersaMark ink pad over a strip of white card and heat embossed it with Stampin’UP! Gold embossing powder and I die cut the words using Cheery Lynn Dies. I adhered the words with Nuvo glue pen to the inked panel and assembled it on the card base.
To add a bit more sparkle I added some gold glitter Washi tape to the front and inside the card to tie in the front and the inside of the card.
Do you think the MFT Denim background stamp is versatile?
Have a great week and come back soon to see what I create next!
Wow that denim stamp is amazing, it looks so real! I could see it being very versatile, especially for teenagers and males, the two hardest groups for me
I know – teenagers and men are so hard because they have to be CAS with limited colour pallets (no pink – heaven forbid!!!) Thanks for stopping by!
