Hmmm… I was going for a grungy look, this is my first pinwheel card, but I rushed it, so I’m not too sure about the finished product – it didn’t turn out exactly how I had planned. When I got back from Reading Festival I realised I only had a few evenings left to complete this challenge for Embellish Magazine‘s Pinwheel Color Trends Challenge, I really wanted to enter the challenge, even if it’s not of the high standard of the other entries, the only way is up!!
I used a Kraft base card, cut some dark purple paper to the right size, stamped it with a butterfly stamp in VersaMark Sepia ink. Then I cut a square of paper from the Docrafts Tea Party paper stack and cut in to the centre from the courners. After coluring in the back of the square with VersaMagic pink chalk I bent the courners over to create the pinwheel and pinned with a brad from the Beautiful collection. I used some Papermania Petals and coloured them with chalk too. I stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and two more butterfly stamps in VersaFine Watermark ink and then added white embossing powder, shook off the excess and used my heat gun. Then I stuck it all together and added pearl gems to the centres of the flowers.
Is the pinwheel a die cut or did you hand cut that. I love it!
Hi Alice, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hand cut this pinwheel – I don’t have a die cutting machine yet!
Wow!!! You did good. It’s nicely cut. Great job.
Thank you!
