Pinwheel take 2

Ah-ha! Things always work better the second time around (practice makes perfect!)

I’ve decided to do another pinwheel card for a colleague’s son’s first birthday (Awww, I know – they grow up so fast!) but as this one is for a little boy I used a different colour scheme from my first pinwheel card.

I used papers from the K&Company 12×12 paper set ‘Hopscotch’ – I love this set because it does make me think of early school years (finger painting, learning to write, learning to count, grazed knees…). The pinwheel was 10 cm x 10 cm square (bigger than my other card that was 8 cm x 8 cm), I lined up the corners on my gilhoutine cutting towards the centre, then folding over the ‘arms’ into the centre. This time I used my Fiskars eylet setter tool to cut holes in the centre of the pinwheel because the first one I made I tried to used the brad to puncture through the paper & it ripped a bit, using the eylet setter was MUCH better. The base card is a kraft card and I cut the background to fit and then used my corner rounding punch to round the corners, then attached with roll-on glue. I used the eyelet setting tool again to cut a hole in the centre of the card, then using a brad from the Tilda Fabric Brads set through the middle attached the pinwheel to the card, I used the American Crafts thickies cardstock for his age in the bottom corner.
