Happy Saturday everyone!!! It’s the weekend and the sun is out – that won’t happen for too much longer… I went to my very first Stampin’ Up! Open Day today in Horsley and I had a really good time – tea, chat, crafting, meeting new people – it was a lovely way to spend a few hours!
Debby Yates was demonstrating in a corner of the room & giving us all some wonderful ideas about stretching our festive stamps and dies further (bauble for a fish body & vase were my favourites) her santa cards were amazing too – see her blog for those.
Look at the photo below for the card I made with the ‘take and make’ bits (as close to the template as possible, so it is not an original creation of mine). I LOVED the little pillow boxes & was ready to reach into my pocket & buy the die but they have been discontinued and all sold out!!! 😦
I love the envelopes and the papers used (Perfect Paisley), but I will have to wait until I have a job before I can even begin to think about buying them… Nikki had put the raffle tickets inside them so that you could take the envelopes home if you bought a raffle ticket – I didn’t win any prizes from my tickets, oh well!
I did make a few purchases on the day, but I tried to be as restrained as I possibly could as I’m on my very last paycheque & I don’t know when there will be another… They were mainly purchased with very specific projects in mind so that I could justify the outlay.
All that remains is for me to say a huge thank-you to Nikki and Colette for organising the day!
