Christmas card for Granny

I have only made one Christmas card this year – due to moving home to my flat I haven’t had the organisation to make cards & do everything else. But because my Granny is so old now, she has very few friends left so her bungalow is not doecorated for Christmas & she has one hanging card display that fits all her Christmas cards in, so I always feel one more is worth the effort to make her feel a little more loved.

When my Mother was a little girl my Granny used to have dogs – a boxer called Jenny and my mother’s Dachshund. I’ve recently bought the Lawn Fawn ‘Critters at the dog park’ stamps and dies sets and I couldn’t wait to use them!!! Needless to say the Boxer and Dachshund were out of the wrapper and inked up in Memento Tuxedo Black ink before you could sneeze!

I cut them out with the dies & my Big Shot, then coloured them in with Promarkers.

Next I went through all the packs of papers that had come free with Cardmaking and Papercraft and found the ‘Berry Merry’ by Jennifer Ellory set of papers & thought it would make a nice ‘Christmassy’ background. I also stamped the bone from the Critters at the Dog Park set on some and cut them out to make ‘wrapped presents’.

I also have the ‘A birdie told me’ dies from Lawn Fawn and cut a bubble in some white card stock. Then I stamped the sentiment (another freebee from Cardmaking and Papercraft) in Staz On black ink.

I wanted an unusual card base, so I finally got out the Back To Basics cards I got from The Glitter Pot ages ago and stuck everything to the card base. I’m not sure it looks done, but I had limited time before we went to see Granny, so it will have to do!
