WMFC#21 Anything Goes!

I hope you’ve all had a nice weekend (despite the weather not being able to make up it’s mind!!)?

The challenge on Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge is ‘Anything Goes’, so I thought I would use my ‘Festive Foliage‘ stamps & new dies 🙂

I  bet other crafters don’t have this problem, but I’m not very into Christmas (I think it’s just a MASSIVE commercial frenzy), so I tend to leave all the card making & tag making ’til the very last minute…

So, I’ve decided to be slightly more organised this year & start early… I used the largest Waltzingmouse ‘Stitched Tags‘ die to cut some tags from white card & used Tim Holtz Distress ink in ‘Iced Spruce’ and my blending tool to add colour to the tags.

As I had used the Distress Ink to ink up the tags I thought it would be good to use them to ink the stamps as well… BIG mistake – my ‘Evergreen Bough’ and ‘Festive Berries’ inks did not stamp well at all! So instead I used Stampin’ UP! inks ‘Real Red’ and ‘Gumball Green’; I’ve included the results so you can see for yourself the difference in stamped image.

Distress vs SU! inks

I have some scrap card that I had already die cut with the Mistletoe and Holly Sprig dies to get the guide holes, so I lined up this guide over my stamped images & drew in the guide holes in pencil so I could line up the die over the top of the images & cut them out. Once I had cut out the mistletoe I coloured in the berries with ‘Primrose’ Promarker and a black Letraset Fine Line Drawing Pen.

I attached the mistletoe, holly, berries and reinforcers to the tags with Quicky Glue pen and roll-on glue and stamped the sentiments with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Then I attached some twine to the tags, job done!

I will be entering these in the Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge #21 ‘Anything Goes’. There is still plenty of time for you to enter the challenge yourself – AS LONG AS YOU USE A WALTZINGMOUSE STAMPS PRODUCT ANYTHING GOES!

  1. Your tags are really pretty in the soft blue – makes a change for blue Christmas instead of green and red!
Thanks for joining the Waltzingmouse Fanatics 😀

  2. I love these Christmas tags (using my fave foliage set). Thanks so much for playing along with Waltzingmouse Fanatics, hope to see you again soon.

BTW – Try using an eraser on your stamps to get rid of any residue on them and then try the Distress inks again – it might help.

  3. Hi Sophia

Your tags are very beautiful. I like the images used as well as the colours, they are just perfect for Christmas.

    Kind regards
    Carola
