Eeeek!!! It’s my friend’s birthday on Friday, so I’m cutting it very fine for finishing his card (thankfully I’ve had his present wrapped for ages, so I know that will arrive on time!)
I scored the front of an A6 cream base card to make an easel card, then attached a navy rectangle to the inside for the ‘stop’.
I’ve spent several nights covering some wooden numbers in Liquid Pearls (Ranger) in ‘Royal Blue’ & using an old loyalty card to make it smooth (ish), so now they are dry I’ve attached them with Glossy Accents to provide the ‘stop’ against which the easel will rest. I thought the panel looked a bit stark & overly blue, so I added some clear gems to soften the harsh blue (and add some birthday sparkle!)
Using the Happy Birthday sentiment from the IndigoBlu ‘Mr Fantashtic‘ set and the straight Brogue detail from the Waltzingmouse ‘My Kind of Guy‘ set, both stamped in SU! ‘Real Red’ ink I created the background on white card. I layered this on a piece of navy card & attached this to the easel base card.
I love the Brogue circle & I saw a card on Pinterest with the bowler hat/monocle/tache inside it & so I wanted to encorporate this on my card, I staped 3 Brogue ciricles in ‘Midnight Muse’, then stamped the sentiments & face inside them. I realised that the Happy Birthday sentiment didn’t fit inside the circle, so I created a quick mask by stamping on a Post-It Note, you can probably tell I masked the bowler hat too as a bit is missing at the top! I used the Spellbinders Standard Circles Small die to cut all three out.
Finally I attached the circles with sticky foam pads – et voila!
