Hmm… Somehow I’m only on card #3 and the postal deadline for the swap is 30th November!! I’m dreadful at getting things done before a deadline!!!
I went for a CAS card a) because I wanted to make it before the deadline and b) I found out what the postage was for Card #1 and it was an eye opener!! I bought ‘Penelope’s Blossoms‘ with matching dies back in the summer & just never got around to using the set, which is dreadful! I’ve seen so many gorgeous wreath cards on other people’s blogs and pinterest that I wanted to try to build my own from leaves I already had, so this stamp set really fits the bill!
Using Old Olive, Garden Green, Lucky Limeade and Gumball Green inks (Stampin’ UP!) I stamped the various elements from the set in a circle and gradually filled in the gaps until I was happy with the design.
I inked the banner from the same set in Real Red, then I used the sentiment from the Waltzingmouse set ‘Gift Card It‘ and stamped in the banner. I used the matching die to cut out the banner and adhered it to the front of the card with clear dimentional pads.
I thought I had a die that looks like a bow, but I couldn’t think what set it was in, so I used some red gingham ribbon and attached it to the front of the card with Glossy Accents (Ranger).
I’m going to a wedding this weekend, but I will post out all the cards I’ve made so far this weekend to be sure they get there before Christmas, but I have checked & the ABSOLUTE deadline for postage to the USA is December 12th so I should be able to post out all my swap card in plenty of time, even if I don’t post them all by the date we were told in the swap!
