Baby’s 1st Christmas

A friend of mine that I went to school with had a baby this year – it makes me feel very old to know that other people my age are breeding! So this Christmas will be his son’s first Christmas, I made him a ‘first Halloween’ card, so I’m making him a ‘first Christmas’ card too!

I wanted this to be fairly simple card a) because the postage deadline is tomorrow and b) because Josh is only little & therefore doesn’t need loads of bling or ribbons etc.

I started with a white 6×6 card base. I cut a panel of Stampin’ UP! Mossy Meadow card for the sentiment, then using my Martha Stewart ‘branch’ punch I punched some branches from the same card so the bottom edge would be softened by some foliage.

I die cut two ‘Globe Ornaments’ from pearlescent red card and two ‘caps’ from gold mirror card. I adhered the caps to the ornaments with Quicky Glue and put them to one side to dry.

From Centura Pearl card stock I cut the sentiment using Memory Box ‘Parker Alphabet’ and Cheery Lynn just the Christmas bit of the ‘Happy Christmas’ die set and some snowflakes, again a Cheery Lynn die. These were all attached to the mossy Meadow panel with Glossy Accents.

Using Glossy Accents again I worked out where the panel would be on the front of the card, then attached the branch punch outs underneath this. When the branch pieces were in place I attached the sentiment panel, then the globe ornaments. I drew some ‘string’ from the ornaments to the branches, and that was it!

I hope his Mummy & Daddy like the card! Wishing you all a happy weekend, I will be busy seeing family, so I’ll see you in the New Year!
