I’m so pleased that one of my former colleagues has been safely delivered a baby boy! He and his wife have been waiting for a baby for years, so this is such a wonderful moment for them.
I love water lillies and I think they are a sign of new life, so I wanted to use them on a card for a new baby. I used the ‘Classic Sunflower’ die to cut out white card. I used Tsukineko Sponge Daubers to colour the edges of the petals with Tim Holtz Distress Ink ‘Spun Sugar’. I used my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to create the petals of the lillies, then attached the layers of petals with Hi-Tack glue. To the centres of all of the lillies I added nuvo crystal drops in ‘Sugared Almond’ and sprinkled yellow Rocailles over, then left them overnight to dry.
I used the Waltzingmouse stamp set ‘Say it With Style’ in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The set works well with the Spellbinders ‘Labels Four’ set so I cut it out with the die.
When the water lillies were dry I added drops of Glossy Accents to look like water drops.
For the lilly pads I cut Spellbinders Circles from ‘Lucky Limeade’ card stock, then cut a sliver out of the circle and used my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to roll the edges and create veins on the pads. Lastly I added some drops of Glossy Accents for water drops.Using a 8×8 inch card base and cutting a 7.5×7.5 inch mat from Pool Party card stock. I attached the water lillies and pads with Hi-tack glue. The sentiment was attached with foam pads.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
