A former colleague of mine has been hoping to move to Canada for several years and has been attempting to get all the paperwork together for his move, but now he has everything in place he’s handed in his notice at his job and he’s heading off to Canada! A few people are meeting at the local pub tomorrow to say goodbye, but I’m going to the theatre so I can’t go. I wanted to make him a card to celebrate this move to his exciting new life. I wanted to create a card that looked like the Canadian flag and decided that a stepper card would be a great way to do this.
I cut and scored an A4 piece of card to create a stepper card (not my best card – a bit scrappy because the ‘steps’ didn’t qute line up!!). I cut some strips of red card and attached them to the side steps with roll-on glue.
Using the Lili of the Valley ‘set 44 Just to Say’ sentiment stamp in VersaMark watermark ink and Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder ‘Tropic Red Blaze’ on Whisper White card stock. The embossed panel was layered on red card and I used my perfect layers tool to create the red mat. The maple leaves were also cut from red card using Xcut dies.
Inside the card I stamped the Lili of the Valley ‘set 63 Quotables – Go For It’ sentiment in VersaMark ink and ‘Tropic Red Blaze’.
I attached the mats to the front of the card with roll-on glue and the maple leaves with foam pads.
I hope you think this is a nice good luck card! Enjoy the weekend ahead.
