I love Steampunk, so when I saw the Kanban ‘Time Machine’ and ‘Cameo Clock’ toppers I grabbed them up! But then I just kept them and got them out to look at them rather than use them. Until now…
My friend is an acomplished seamstress and loves gaming so she makes her own costumes for gaming and comic book conventions – they are amazing!!! Today is her birthday and I put the card in the post at the weekend so I’m sure it arrived on time, so I’ll share the card I made for her now.
I love this ‘Cameo Clock – Divas’ image and tried to pick up on the colours and theme of the image. I used some Early Espresso card and embossed it with the Crafts Too ‘Geared’ embossing folder. Because the card was bigger than the embossing folder I embossed it twice and stuck some teal ribbon over the join using double sided tape and attached a peacock feather to the sticky tape under the ribbon. I attached the embossed panel to the front of a C5 cream card base, then I attached the image over the top of the embossed panel with clear foam pads.
Using my Bow Maker I made a little bow out of the teal ribbon and attached it to the card with Hi-Tack glue and used clamping tweezers to hold it in place whilst the glue dried.
I used the Xcut ‘Chronology’ dies to cut a pocket watch from gold mirror board and Sahara Sand for the watch face and Early Espresso for the watch hands. To attach the watch hands to the face I used a Doodlebug mini brad in antique brass. To attach the pocket watch to the card I used 3mm foam pads.
Using my Cheery Lynn ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ word dies I cut the sentiment from teal card stock and attached them to the front of the card with Quicky Glue pen.
Finally, to the inside of the card I attached the ‘Time Machine – Verses’ sentiment with roll-on glue.
I hope you found this inspiring and your week is going well!
Fabulous card. Love this style of steampunk. I bet your friends costumes are amazing.
