Friday will be my mother’s birthday and she isn’t very ‘computer savvy’ so I feel safe posting this before her birthday.
I stamped the IndigoBlu ‘Sunflower’ stamp on Neenah card with VersaFine ‘Vintage Sepia’ ink. I coloured it in with Spectrum Noir GB1, GB3, Ct1, CT4, TN8, EB4, EB6, JG1 and JG5.
Using my Perfect layers tool to cut layers from More Mustard and Chocolate Chip card for the stamped panel. I cut a 7 inch square of white card and placed the layers on this. I attached the layers onto the white card, then attached this white layer on the 8×8 inch white card blank with 2mm foam pads.
Using the Heartfelt Creations ‘Classic Sunflower’ stamp and Memento ‘Tuxedo Black’ ink on Neenah card three times. Then I used the ‘Classic Sunflower’ die to cut them all out. I coloured them with Spectrum Noir pens and shaped them using my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. I layered the different sized petals on top of each other and attached them with Hi-Tack glue. For the flower centres I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Copper Penny and added Bronze Rocailles and left them to dry overnight. I attached one sunflower to the card, along with a leaf cut from green card using X-cut die.
My Mum grew up in Shropshire and heard a lot of Welsh on Market Day and she also supports the Welsh Rugby team, so she knows a little Welsh. As a result I wanted to get the Tattered Lace ‘Welsh Sentiments’ dies and use them on this card. I cut ‘Penblwydd Hapus’ from Chocolate Chip card and attached it to the stamped panel and on the More Mustard panel.
I made a triple bow from Hempatique brown hemp cord using the Bow Maker and attached it to the card with HI-Tack glue and attached a wooden button on top.
I wanted to present my Mum’s present in a brown paper bag in a ‘rustic’ look, but wanted to add sunflowers and twine etc. so it would match the card.
