I went to stay with my Fairy Godparents (long story) in Devon last weekend and had a lovely time! I wanted to send them a thank you card with a difference…
I had some circular apeture cards in my stash so I decided to use one of those so I could get in lots of dimention. First of all I mixed up a tiny bit of water, watercolour paint and Perfect Pearls Turquoise in a mini mister and spritzed the front of the apeture card. I left it to dry and then put it under a heavy book to counteract the warping!
Next I used Archival Ink in Jet Black to ink up the bubbles in Kaisercraft ‘Rock Pool Clear Stamp‘ set and then stamped onto an acetate sheet. I then left this to dry overnight.
Using the window in the front of the card to line up the Lili of the Valley ‘Little Mermaid 2‘ stamp I stamped it in Archival Ink on the inside piece of card so she would show through the window. Next I stamped the Summer Oval Letter Seals from Whimsy Stamps on a fresh piece of white card and cut it out with scissors. I had a little scrap black card that I used for the Memory Box Majestic Anchor die and inked the edges of the shape with silver ink.
I coloured the mermaid with my Promarkers and attempted to get that ‘sunlight through water’ effect behind her and drew the sea bed with some seaweed below her. To emphasise the bubbles in the image I added tiny dots of Liquid Pearls in Baby Blue (Ranger) to them.
I cut around the acetate bubbles and attached them to the front of the card with Glossy Accents (Ranger) and attached the anchor die cut with double sided tape. Last of all I attached the oval sentiment with foam pads to give dimention to the card.
