Today is my eldest Niece’s birthday, but because I’ve been ill for the last few days I didn’t get her card completed until today!
I used a white 6×6 tent-fold card for the base. I cut the green square from some patterned paper I got as a freebee with Cardmaking and Papercraft and attached it with roll-on glue.
Next I stamped the Carousel horse from the ‘Summer Garden and Sentiments‘ Whimsy Stamps set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I fussy cut all around the horse and used my craft knife to cut out the bits between the tail, legs & ribbons. I coloured it in using my Promarkers:
The pole & saddle were ‘Summer sun’, ‘Sunflower’ and ‘Gold’. The Leaves were ‘Apple Cider’ and ‘Pear Green’. The flowers were ‘Tropical Orchid’, ‘Orchid’, ‘Blossom’ and ‘Rose Pink’. The ribbons were ‘Powder Blue’ and ‘Sky Blue’. The hooves, mane and tail were ‘Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5’. The body had some shading with ‘Cool Grey 1’ and Blender.
Next I used my Martha Stewart ‘Double Scallop‘ edger punch to create a carousel top & bottom section using Centura Pearl card. I used the Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die with pale blue card and Cheery Lynn ‘Happy‘ and ‘Birthday‘ dies with the same card. I found some pink card and die cut out the 1 and 0 from the Memory Box ‘Parker Numbers‘ dies.
I attached the carousel horse with very shallow foam sticky fixers, then I wrapped the Habico Paper Roses’ stems together and used Glossy Accents to attach them to the card. Once the roses were dry I used thick foam sticky fixer pads to attach the top and bottom border over the top of the horse and roses.
I used Quicky Glue pen to attach the Happy Birthday and 10 in place and roll-on glue to attach the scalloped circle.
