Paper Craft

Thank you

Eurgh! I’ve been very ill this weekend – I must have eaten something that didn’t agree with me because I’ve been sick since Thursday & I’m only just beginning to feel better!

My Mum always works incredibly hard over Christmas feeding and entertaining the whole family, and we always SAY thank you, but sometimes it has more impact if you write it down.

My Mum ADORES Boston Terriers & French Bulldogs, so a card with either on would warm her heart – I got the ‘Stylish Simon‘ set from Simon Says Stamp just for her, because I know she will just LOVE him!

Before I had even decided on the base card I stamped Simon and his Scarf, then die cut Simon & fussy cut his scarf & attached his scarf with Quicky Glue pen. I die cut a speech bubble from the Lawn Fawn ‘A Birdie Told me‘ die set and stamped the sentiment from ‘Critters at the dog park‘ stamp set on it.

Next I started to think about the base card – I decided on a dark grey 6×6 card because I wanted a snow scene behind Simon & when it’s about to snow the sky always goes a dark grey/purple kind of colour…

I have some Snow White Centura Pearl card that I die cut the Cheery Lynn ‘Snowflakes‘ from – some of the snowflakes were almost as big as Simon, so I only used the smallest ones for the card. I have some pearlescent paper from The Paper Mill that I cut the Marianne Creatables ‘Horizon Pinetrees‘ die from; it was a bit short for the 6×6 card, so I used my Crafter’s Companion Top Score Multiboard and scoring tool to score an extention to the hills using the ‘wiggly line’ on the board and cut it out using scisors.

I attached the background to the base card with roll-on glue and attached Simon and the speech bubble in the same way. I thought the card looked a bit bare, so I decided to cut a ‘Frosted Christmas Tree‘ from dark green card to add extra interest. I attached it with roll-on glue and then attached the snowflakes with Quicky glue.

Thank you mum Xmas 2013
