So many of my friends had babies last year, and the first of them to be born will turn 1 next week. Time flies!!!
I have this 12×12 cardstock pad called ‘Hopscotch’ by K&Company which has lots of bold colours and patterns on it, and I thought this page would be perfect for a little boy’s birthday card.
I cut a 14cmx14cm square from the cardstock and adhered it to the white card base with roll-on glue. I went through my card stash & grabbed some card that co-ordinated with the patterned card (I think it was SU! Whisper White, Crushed Curry and Wild Wasabi, not sure!) and using my Sizzix ‘Stars’ dies I die cut several stars of different sizes.
I also die cut the letters o, n and e from the Memory Box ‘Parker Alphabet’ dies (unfortunately I seem to have lost my lowercase ‘s’ at some point – the last time I used it was 19th December & I’ve tidied and cleaned & done all sorts since then so I bet it’s gone for good, which is so frustrating!!!!) I adhered them to the large green star with Quicky Glue pen.
I coloured a few of the small stars in with my TB1 Spectrum Noir pen. Then, I arranged the stars on the front of the card, when I had them where I was happy with them I attached all but the largest with roll-on glue, but the largest one was attached with 3mm foam squares for dimention.
Next, I wanted to decorate the inside of the card (I don’t normally do this, but I thought it would be nice as the front is quite plain. I inked up my ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment stamp from the IndigoBlu ‘Mr Fan-tash-tic’ set in Hello Honey SU! ink. I cut an 8.5cm x 1 inch section of the card I used on the front, then made a fishtail in it, and using roll-on glue I attached it to the inside of the card, then attached some stars over the top.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
