A friend of mine has asked me to make a 21st birthday card for his niece! I won’t lie – when it’s a significant birthday card, it feels more stressful to make sure you get it right!!
I decided that I was going to go for bling, with a bit of black for sophistication…
I started with a fuscia 157mm x 157mm base card. I cut a 15cm x 15cm piece of gold mirror card (then gutted it!) and then I cut a 145mm x 145mm of pearlescent black/grey card.
Using the Waltzingmouse Stamps ‘Fine Feathers’ stamps I stamped on the pearlescent card with VersaMark ink and I embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Embossing powders (Ruby Blush Blaze, Navy Viola Blaze, Viola Lavender Blaze, Golden Meadow Blaze and Golden Mint Blaze).
I die cut two circles from my Spellbinders Standard Circles Small dies, one from gold mirror card and the other from the pearlescent grey card. I used the numbers from the Memory Box ‘Parker Numbers’ dies on the smaller circle so you would see the gold through it.
Using roll-on glue I attached the pearlescent card to the mirror card and attached this to the fuscia card base, then I attached the gold circle with roll-on glue and the ’21’ circle with clear dimentional pads.
Now for the bling! I used doodlebug designs sequins in ‘lilac’ and some gems.
Last but not least I cut a white square for the insert and stamped the sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps ‘Say It With Style’ set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
