It will be my Godmother’s husband’s birthday this week, so I’m making him this card before they fly to the Scilly Isles for a birthday treat.
You’re probably already aware I like Acid Drops and Whatnots. I got some toppers from them & I think this set is rather good – it’s called ‘Martini Man’. My Godmother and her husband went sailing around the world & would have a drink at about 5pm, wherever they were in the world, so I thought they might like this!
The base card for this is black because of the black borders and lettering, I wanted the base to be very bold.
I cut the picture I was after from the page, then layered it onto Real Red card stock and used my Perfect Layers tool to make a 1/16″ border. Then, I layered it onto an orange card (I can’t tell if it’s Pumpkin Pie or Tangerine Tango, but it came from the SU! Brights set) I think this was a 1/4″ border, but I’ve forgotten!
I used a little Wink of Stella GL.LT.GREEN041 on the potions and GL.ORANGE070 on the bunsen flame to add some birthday sparkle (I don’t know if you can tell in the picture though!). The sentiment is from the same AD&W topper page, attached with roll-on glue.
The Martini glasses are a Memory Box die ‘Party Glasses’, I adhered them to the bottom left corner with Quicky Glue.
For the inside of the card I cut a white insert, stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’UP! ‘Happy Hour’ stamp set in black ink, then the Martini glass in Smokey Slate and the olive in Gumball Green.
