I love Gorguss by Santoro because it reminds me of my youngest niece, so this year I made her a card using the ‘The Runaway’ stamp set by docrafts.
The main image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Classic Crest card. I coloured it with my Specturm Noir pens. The horse’s body: EB1, TN1, hooves and tail: BG3, BG4 and BGR5. Saddle and saddle cloth: GB6 and GB7, bridle: DR4 and DR5. Her skin: FS2, FS3, FS7 and CR3, her hair: EB3, EB4 and EB6. Her dress: BT5, BT6 and BT8.
To create a ‘grungy’ background I stamped the IndigoBlu stamp in Ranger Archival Ink ‘coffee’ onto Cherry Cobbler card stock. I didn’t want it to be perfectly square so I offset the panel, cut off the corners that were over-hanging the edges of the card so it would still fit in an envelope. I used HI-tack glue to attach the panel to the cream card base, but didn’t add glue right up to the edges so I could do some distressing with my scissors and nail file.
I thought the hearts that came in the ‘The Runaway’ stamp set were adorable so I stamped them on some ‘More Mustard’ card with Ranger Archival Ink in ‘coffee’. I cut the card into a square and inked it a bit with Distress Ink in ‘Vintage photo’ and used a nail file to distress the edges.
I had some white paper flowers and coloured them with Spectrum Noir BT8 to tie them in with her dress. The tickets are Tim Holtz ‘Adage Tickets’ #TH92716 and I distressed them a bit to add some texture. They were glued in the bottom right corner wiht Hi-Tack glue to balance the yellow panel.
Work is still incredibly busy so I probably won’t be making any cards for a while, hopefully I’ll find some time in about a month. Enjoy some crafting!!
